- When facing an open port in the "key up" position, B is on the left and A is on the right . This "straight-through" configuration ensures that the transmit signal from one device always reaches the corresponding receive port on the other device, regardless of the number of patch panels or cable segments in the channel .

To maintain proper LC patch cord polarity:
- Use duplex LC patch cords with consistent A-B wiring.

- Follow TIA-598-C color coding for backbone and riser cables to maintain fiber identification across multiple segments.
